2027 Culinary Getaway in Torun, Gdansk, Sopot and Gdynia Tour with Anna & Mark Hurning
Welcome to the Coastal Cuisine a Culinary Getaway in Torun and northern Pomeranian region of Poland including Gdansk, Sopot and Gdynia tour with Polish Your Kitchen's Anna and Mark Hurning! We’ll begin our adventure with exploring the historic medieval Torun, established in the 13th century by Teutonic Knights, and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Next, we'll head north to the beautiful Baltic Sea Coastline and the Tri-Cities of Gdansk, Sopot and Gdynia, Oliwa Cathedral and visit the charming Pomeranian villages and towns.
You’ll get to attend a cooking class with local village women and learn how to prepare traditional Kashubian recipes. Then we’ll journey to Jastrzebia Gora, Puck, and explore the historic Market Square, Yachting and Fishing Port, Museum of Puck County, and much more.
We’ll explore Hel, the Pearl of the Peninsula, Wladyslawowo, Chalupy, Kuznica, Jastarnia, Jurata and Hel. After that, we’ll take a scenic ride through Kashubian countryside to Gdynia and Sopot before heading back to Gdansk.
While in Gdynia, we’ll visit the famous pre-WWII food market and afterwards, we’ll take a trip to Malbork Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site, to see the world’s biggest brick castle and learn about the Teutonic Knights' interesting history.
Back in Gdansk, we’ll get to visit Town Hall of the Main City, Neptune Fountain, Saint Mary’s Street, The Royal Route, Crane Over the Motlawa River and many churches while on a walking city tour with a local guide. We’ll also prepare Polish and regional dishes during a cooking lesson with a local Gdansk chef.
Before the tour ends, we’ll take in the sites of the Motlawa River aboard a galleon-style ship and view the Monument to the Westerplatte Defenders, site of the first battle of World War II.

Tour Itinerary
Day 1 (Thur. 6/3): Guided Torun City Tour and Welcome Dinner
Location: Torun in Kujawsko-Pomeranian region

On day one, we’ll take a guided city tour of historic Toruń. The town was established in the 13th century by Teutonic Knights and is utterly charming and dynamic with a spectacular medieval part that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Toruń is also known as a city of peace: two peace treaties ending Polish-Teutonic wars were signed right here in Toruń, in 1411 and 1466. Under the latter treaty, Toruń became a town belonging to the Kingdom of Poland. Toruń is also the birthplace of the famous astronomer, Nicolaus Copernicus and is also well-known for its sublime gingerbread, which forms an important part of the city’s heritage. In the evening, we'll be welcomed to our northern Polish adventure with a festive Welcome Dinner filled with delectable regional and traditional Polish specialties.

Day 2 (Fri. 6/4): Baking Workshop with Ania & Mark and Museum of Toruń Gingerbread Tour
Location: Torun in Kujawsko-Pomeranian region

This morning we’ll join Ania and Mark for a baking class which will include baking gingerbread and other delicious specialties from her latest book “Polish Your Kitchen: Sweet Traditions.” Toruń is well-known for its exquisite gingerbread, which forms an important part of the city’s heritage. It’s that important, it has museums dedicated to it and today we’ll tour the Museum of Toruń Gingerbread and the Living Museum of Gingerbread. The oldest known recipe for Toruń gingerbread actually comes from a medical book. Smacznego! - Enjoy!
Day 3 (Sat. 6/5): Nicolaus Copernicus House Museum Tour and Boat Ride on the Vistula River to Enjoy Torun's Spectacular Panorama

Day 4 (Sun. 6/6): Guided Gdansk Oliwa City Tour and Cathedral Pipe Organ Presentation
Location: Pomeranian countryside

On day four, we'll transfer to boutique palace hotel in the charming Kashubian countryside. We shall have the pleasure of staying in elegant rooms and savoring local and Polish cuisine. There are many attractions at this restored 19th-century palace, such as luxurious spa with Hammam ritual, pool and a 4.5-hectare park to relax and enjoy. En route to our hotel, we will make a stop in Gdansk Oliwa, a lovely small city located outside of Gdansk. Here, we'll tour the 13th century Oliwa Cathedral famous for its magnificent, world-renowned Rococo pipe organ, beautiful Mickiewicz Park and get a glimpse of Solidarity's Lech Walesa residence. In the evening, we'll be welcomed to our hotel with a dinner filled with delectable Polish and Kashubian specialties.

Day 5 (Mon. 6/7): Cooking Class and Exploring Kashubian Towns & Villages
Location: Pomeranian countryside

On day two, we'll attend a cooking class with local women in a Kashubian village and learn how to prepare traditional Kashubian recipes. Our hosts will also be teaching us about the unique arts and crafts of the region. We will then journey to Jastrzebia Gora, a seaside resort with picturesque beaches, and Puck, a town in Northern Kashubia. We will explore the historic Market Square, Yachting and Fishing Port, Museum of Puck County, Pier of the Puck Bay and Seaside Promenade. Enjoy dinner on your own tonight at the hotel restaurant and/or relax in the pool or spa in the Pomeranian countryside.

Day 6 (Tue. 6/8): Discovering Hel Peninsula
Location: Pomeranian countryside

Day three will start with a drive to the gorgeous Hel Peninsula where we will visit the luxurious resort towns and centuries-old fishing villages. We will explore Wladyslawowo, Chalupy, Kuznica, Jastarnia, Jurata and Hel, the Pearl of the Peninsula. After stopping for lunch at Kutter Restaurant, we will see The Fishery Museum, The Hel Cape, The Lighthouse, The Seal Sanctuary and Fishing Port. Once back at the hotel, we'll have free time to relax and/or enjoy dinner on your own at hotel's restaurant.

Day 7 (Wed. 6/9): Touring Gdynia and Sopot
Location: Gdansk, Poland

After a relaxing morning at the hotel, we'll take a scenic ride through Kashubian countryside to Gdynia and Sopot before heading back to Gdansk. In the afternoon, we'll explore the most interesting sights of both these coastal cities. We'll make sure to visit the famous pre-WWII food market in Gdynia and then take a stroll along the Esplanade in Sopot, the popular seaside resort and take a walk on the beautiful pier in Sopot, recognized as the longest wooden pier in Europe. To end the day, we'll be having a scrumptious dinner at Brovarnia Gdansk Restaurant and microbrewery, serving award-winning freshly brewed beer and "Old Gdansk" cuisine. It's sure to be a night to savor and long remember!

Day 8 (Thur. 6/10): UNESCO Malbork Castle & Gdansk Tour
Location: Gdansk, Poland

A trip to Malbork is the perfect way to explore the Pomerania region of Poland! As we journey to this UNESCO World Heritage site, we'll get to see the world’s biggest brick castle and learn about the Teutonic Knights' interesting history. After our castle tour, we'll enjoy a delicious lunch in Malbork area restaurant. After lunch, we'll head back to Gdansk for some sightseeing - Town Hall of the Main City, Neptune Fountain, Saint Mary’s Street, The Royal Route and Crane Over the Motlawa River. For dinner tonight, you can explore Gdansk's fantastic restaurants on your own - we recommend Gdanskie Bowke restaurant overlooking the Motlawa River, where traditional flavors of Gdansk are combined with contemporary culinary arts using local, seasonal ingredients and house made products.

Day 9 (Fri. 6/11): Sailing Aboard a Galleon Style Ship on Motlawa River, Solidarity Museum and Monument to the Fallen Shipyard Workers and Farewell Dinner

This morning, let's take in the sites of the Motlawa River aboard a galleon-style ship. During the sailing, we'll be able to see the Monument to the Westerplatte Defenders, site of the first battle of World War II. In the afternoon, feel free to go souvenir shopping on your own or join us on a tour of Solidarity Museum and Monument to the Fallen Shipyard Workers. Finally, let's wrap up our journey with a Farewell Dinner at Goldwasser Restaurant, one of Gdansk's best restaurants offering dishes of regional Polish and international cuisine. Here, we'll enjoy a multi-course menu that showcases the best of Polish and regional fare, all paired with a glass of the famous Goldwasser Vodka. Na zdrowie! - Cheers!

Day 10 (Sat. 6/12): Departure
