Explore the historic city of Krakow, seeing the Old Town, Main Market  Square, Wawel Castle Hill and Cathedral, Kazimierz district and the Stary Kleparz fresh food market. Finally, take a tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Salt Mine in Wieliczka near Krakow.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 (Thur.3/18): Guided Krakow and Kazimierz City Tour & Welcome Dinner
Location: Krakow, Poland
Accommodations: Golden Queen Hotel

After breakfast in our hotel, we set off to explore Krakow, the capital of Lesser Poland on a guided, walking tour of the historic city, including Kazimierz, the historic Jewish district. Being one of the few Polish cities that survived World War II, Krakow is full of preserved medieval architecture. On the tour, we visit the Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the largest medieval town square in Europe, Market Square. We also visit the magnificent 14th-century Wawel Castle Hill and Cathedral. This evening, we'll gather for a festive Welcome Dinner at Wesele Restaurant, located in the heart of Krakow's Market Square and savor old Polish and Krakow delicacies and specialties.

Day 2 (Fri.3/19): UNESCO Wieliczka Salt Mine Tour & Easter Eggs Decorating Workshop
Location: Krakow, Poland
Accommodations: Golden Queen Hotel

After breakfast in our hotel, we'll take a tour of the famous Wieliczka Salt Mine, a UNESCO World Heritage site full of galleries, lakes, chapels, and murals - all carved from salt! Then, we'll take a drive to a nearby town to participate in a fun Easter eggs decorating class. For dinner on your own, we recommend Biala Roza restaurant nearby our hotel, which specializes in traditional Krakow cuisine. The restaurant is run by Chef Grzegorz Sroka, who creates modern arrangements of flavors of the past using top quality regional products.   

    

Day 3 (Sat.3/20): Stary Kleparz Market & Krakow Obwarzanek Museum Workshop
Location: Krakow, Poland

After a delicious breakfast, we'll make stops at the centuries-old Krakow tradition, Stary Kleparz fresh food market! Here, locals and visitors shop for the freshest Polish food products, including breads, cheeses, meats, fruits, and vegetables! Next, we'll visit Obwarzanek Museum and take part in a hands-on workshop. After the workshop, you'll have free time to explore the sights and shops of Krakow on your own. The Easter Market and Cloth Hall on Krakow’s Market Square offer quality Polish folk handicrafts. 


Day 4 (Sun.3/21): PALM SUNDAY - Tall Palms in Lipnica Murowna
Location: Krakow, Poland
Accommodations: Golden Queen Hotel 

We'll be meeting early in the lobby of our hotel in Krakow this morning and take a drive to Lipnica Murowana to enjoy the beautiful, hand-made tall  palms in the village that is famous for displaying these during Palm Sunday. Lipnica also is on the UNESCO Wooden Churches Route of Malopolska with it’s wooden, XV century St. Leonard Church. It is one of the oldest and most treasured churches in Poland! After the Palm Sunday service, we'll make a stop for a delicious lunch in the area. After returning to Krakow, take a leisurely walk to the Easter Market or simply enjoy the relaxation at our comfortable hotel! We’ll be heading out to Zakopane in the morning and overnight there for several days. 

Day 5 (Mon.3/22): Cooking Class, Zakopane Tour, Krupowki Street & Gubalowka Hill
Location: Transfer from Krakow to Zakopane, Poland
Accommodations: Nosalowy Park Hotel & Spa

After breakfast, we embark on a unique cooking experience in one of the highlander villages in the Podhale region, preparing typical Easter dishes and some regional specialties. Next, we'll drive to see the spectacular St. Michael Archangel's Wooden Church in Debno Podhalanskie village, where we can admire stunning paintings, sculptures and other carvings from the 15th and 16th centuries. This remarkable church is a UNESCO's World Heritage site! In the afternoon, we take a tour of the beautiful mountain town of Zakopane. Taking a leisurely stroll along the famous Krupowki Street, we admire the surrounding views of the Tatra Mountains and other mountain ranges. We then take a funicular or a chair ski lift up Gubalowka Mountain* to get the best panoramic view of Zakopane. To round off the day, we recommend dinner on your own at Restaurant Sabala on Zakopane’s main Krupowki Street, where you can savor delicious regional Polish food, drink and music while watching the world go by from the cozy terrace.

Important note: *Funicular or chair lift to Gubalowka Mountain is subject to confirmation once in Zakopane and depends on the weather and technical condition of the equipment.

           

Day 6 (Tue.3/23): Czerwony Dwor in Zakopane & Legendary Chocholow Woodcarver 
Location: Zakopane, Poland
Accommodations: Nosalowy Park Hotel & Spa

This morning, we're off to Czerwony Dwor, Zakopane’s Cultural Center to view and shop authentic handicrafts made by local artists. Next, we'll take a drive to the villages of Chocholow and Witow, both on the UNESCO Lesser Poland Timber Architecture Route. In Chocholow, we'll have a chance to visit the art studio of Jan Ziender, a local wood carver and artist. Here you can also purchase one of his unique, hand-made carvings! On our way back to Zakopane, we'll be making a short stop at Bacowka, a small mountain hut, where locals make the famous smoked sheep cheese “oscypek” in a traditional. To finish off our day in the highlander country of Podhale, we'll dine together tonight at Karczma Przy Mlynie restaurant in Zakopane, where we'll enjoy regional and Polish specialties.  

Day 7 (Wed.3/24): Bukowina Cultural Center & Easter Palms Workshop
Location: Zakopane, Poland
Accommodations: Nosalowy Park Hotel & Spa

Today we take a journey to the charming highland town of Bukowina Tatrzanska. While there, we’ll be making traditional Easter palms out of colored paper at the local Cultural Center. After class, we enjoy a delicious lunch at Schronisko Bukowina restaurant and shop for some local specialties at their store. In the afternoon, you'll have some free time to explore Zakopane; perhaps take a leisurely stroll down Krupowki street or shop some more for local handicrafts or pamper yourself with spa treatments at our hotel's NABE Spa. For dinner on your own, we recommend Mala Szwajcaria restaurant in Zakopane - a favorite among locals and tourists for it's delicious Polish and European dishes. Tomorrow morning we'll be leaving Zakopane for Warsaw.

                       

Day 8 (Thur.3/25): Travel Day To Warsaw, the Capital of Poland in Mazovia
Location: Transfer from Zakopane to Warsaw, Poland 
Accommodations: Polonia Palace Hotel

On our five hour drive from Zakopane to Warsaw today, we'll be making rest stops along the way and also make a stop for a delicious lunch about half way to Warsaw.  

       

Day 9 (Fri.3/26): Guided Warsaw City Tour: History, Culture and Cuisine
Location: Warsaw, Poland
Accommodations: Polonia Palace Hotel

Come explore the vibrant city of Warsaw with us and get a real taste of its history, culture, and cuisine! We'll make a morning stop at Warsaw's historic fresh food market, Hala Mirowska and next we'll explore the Old Town, including Market Square, Barbican and Palace Square, and get a stunning view of the city from the top of the Palace of Culture and Science, weather permitting. We'll take a short break to taste delicious hot chocolate at Wedel Chocolate Lounge, Poland's oldest chocolate brand founded in Warsaw in 1851. Get ready for a truly unforgettable cultural and culinary journey around Warsaw! This evening we'll enjoy group dinner during our Eastern adventure in Poland at Browar Warszawski - Grill, Brewery and Bar, a fantastic spot in Warsaw offering delicious food, craft beer in a cozy atmosphere. Smacznego! & Na zdrowie!

Day 10 (Sat.3/27): Easter Baking Class, Easter Baskets Blessing & Warsaw Uprising Museum

Location: Warsaw, Poland

This Saturday, we'll be baking Easter specialties with Ania in a culinary studio in Warsaw! From Babkas to Mazurki and more, this for sure is going to be a fun and sweet baking class! Ania will also show us how to prepare an Easter basket or SWIECONKA in Polish, since it's a tradition in Poland to have Easter baskets full of delicious foods be blessed by a priest and to share with family and friends on Easter Sunday. We'll have an opportunity to visit a local Warsaw church to experience Easter baskets blessing. In the afternoon, we'll tour Warsaw Uprising Museum. The museum is one of the most visited places in Warsaw and was opened on 60th anniversary of the outbreak of the uprising and a tribute to Warsaw’s residents who fought and died in 1944. The evening is on your own to relax in our hotel or dine or shop on the town. 

 

 

Day 11 (Sun.3/28): EASTER SUNDAY Mass and Brunch & Royal Baths Park Visit
Location: Warsaw, Poland

On Easter Sunday, we’ll enjoy Easter brunch at Palace Zdunowo outside Warsaw. Palace Zdunowo  is a place where the traditions of Polish cuisine are brought to guests' plates with a modern twist. Here, we’ll enjoy delicious Easter dishes with a wide offering of exquisite desserts. Happy Easter! Wesolych Swiat Wielkanocnych! After returning to Warsaw and weather permitting, we’ll visit the 17th century baroque Royal Baths Park or Lazienki Park in Warsaw. This majestic park was built for Prince Stanislaw Herakliusz Lubomirski and features scenic gondola rides and Chopin concerts during summer months. Dinner is on your own on this Easter evening in Warsaw.


Day 12 (Mon.3/29): HAPPY SMIGUS DYNGUS! & Departures Home

After breakfast, make your way back home or if you'd like to, stay longer in Poland's lively capital city!
